Assigning Characters
Choosing the right character for each guest sets the tone for a great night. It helps everyone jump into the story, loosen up, and really get into character.
Here are a few tips when you’re deciding who plays who:
Big personality or low-key?
Some guests love being the centre of attention, others prefer a more laid-back role. Use our extroversion scale to assign guests to characters so your guests can feel comfortable during the night.
Guest preferences
Some roles involve saying a speech - ensure you pick someone who is okay with public speaking.
Existing friendships (or rivalries)
Try to avoid pairing people in character dynamics that could feel awkward. For example, if two characters are rivals, it helps to assign them to close friends so guests feel comfortable on the night.
We’ve included a quick summary of each character to help with assigning - including personality traits, key relationships, and how outgoing the role is. We’ve also suggested two roles for the host to play, but you are welcome to choose whichever character you like! Trust your gut, and have fun with it.
